For Rocky Hill homes, StormRail quotes by the foot on the first call, and the phone is answered any hour. Gutter Clean Pro over existing gutters is $18 a foot installed, new gutters with T-Rex $25, with DoublePro $30. Your written plan covers the house, the system and the size, and a certified installer serving Hartford County works from it.
Rocky Hill's median home dates from 1979. If your gutters still hang straight and drain, a cover goes on top of them. If they don't, we price new ones on the same call.

Keep the gutters or replace them: the Rocky Hill decision
The first thing we settle on a Rocky Hill call is whether the gutters on your house are worth keeping. That choice picks the system before the trees do.
Keep them, and the answer is Gutter Clean Pro, a two-layer aluminum cover fitted over sound gutters at $18 a foot for 5-inch or $20 for 6-inch. Sound means the run holds its slope, empties into the downspout, and the seams and end caps stay dry once the rain stops. The manufacturer's lifetime limited performance coverage for Gutter Clean Pro includes coniferous areas.
Replace them, and you pick between two guards built into a new run. T-Rex, at $25 a foot for 5-inch or $29 for 6-inch, uses a perforated continuous hanger that carries the gutter along its full length and covers it at the same time. Its performance coverage is 25-year prorated limited. DoublePro, at $30 or $34, adds a finer second layer beneath for needles and grit. DoublePro carries a lifetime clog-free warranty, pine needles included.
You can usually tell from the ground which side of the line you are on. These are the signs that point to new gutters:
Downspouts are billed on their own at $14 to $16 a foot, and tearing off an old run is $1 a foot. The rates are public on the price list, and your quote shows each line separately. If you are still unsure, the page on whether you need new gutters for guards covers the checks in more detail.
- Gutters pulling away from the fascia, or spikes backing out of it
- Seams or corners that keep dripping after a storm has passed
- Sections that hold standing water a day later
- Rust spots, cracks or holes along the bottom of the trough
Rocky Hill by the record: housing, the river and the weather
Rocky Hill built most of its homes in the second half of the twentieth century. Census tables put the median year at 1979, with the 1970s the busiest decade at about a quarter of the town's 9,520 housing units and the 1980s close behind. Roughly two in three homes went up between 1950 and 1989. Just under half the units are detached single-family houses, 13% are single-family attached in townhouse or condo style, and most of the rest sit in multi-unit buildings. For an attached home we ask who looks after the gutters, because a run shared by several front doors gets priced as one job.
Along Old Main Street, running south from the Wethersfield line, the Rocky Hill Center Historic District holds 232 historically significant buildings. Most are homes, and many are older than 1850, in the Georgian and Federal styles. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in March 2007. On a house that old we settle gutter size, profile and color with you in the written plan before any material is ordered.
The Connecticut River forms the town's eastern border. The Rocky Hill-Glastonbury Ferry, said to be the oldest continuously running ferry in the nation, closes every winter because of river ice. In late September 2026 it closed early for a different reason: high winds from a nor'easter, according to CTDOT's CTroads site. The National Weather Service reported gusts of 40 to 55 mph in parts of Connecticut during that storm on September 26 and 27, with 1 to 2 inches of rain typical in the northern counties and up to 3 inches in parts of the south. Eversource restored power to nearly 150,000 of its customers, and downed trees and lines closed roads, mostly in eastern Connecticut.
Over a normal year, NOAA's normals at Bradley International Airport, the Hartford area's official station, come to 47.05 inches of precipitation, 51.7 inches of snow and 12.4 days with an inch or more. Treat those as Hartford-area figures, not a reading taken in Rocky Hill. A light rain rarely overruns a guard. The dozen heavy days a year are what test it, when a roof valley sends a whole slope of water into a few feet of gutter.
The Rocky Hill Building Department requires a permit to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move or demolish a building or structure, and it takes applications online through the town's OpenGov portal. Its page does not say whether gutter work on its own needs one. Ask the department before your date is set, and if a permit is needed we will build the wait into the schedule.
What's a good price for gutter guards in Rocky Hill?
A good price is one you can check. Ours is per foot of gutter, installed, and it is published: $18 for Gutter Clean Pro over 5-inch gutters you already have, $25 for new 5-inch gutters with T-Rex, and $30 for new 5-inch gutters with DoublePro. For 6-inch gutters the three rates are $20, $29 and $34.
What moves your total is length, height and the number of drops. A single-story house with one short run is a small job. A two-story house with a garage wing and four downspouts is a bigger one. We take the roofline measurement remotely and give you the number on the call, and the written quote breaks it into gutter, downspout and removal so you can compare it line by line with any other quote you get. For a longer answer, see how much gutter guards cost.
Steel or aluminum gutter guards for a Rocky Hill house?
Both are sold. Stainless steel mesh shows up on many retrofit products, and plenty of them work. Every system we install is Alu-Rex aluminum, and on a house with aluminum gutters that keeps one metal from end to end, so there is no mixed-metal joint at the fastener. Aluminum also does not rust.
The metal is not the deciding factor, though. The size of the openings, the number of layers, and how the guard attaches to the gutter and the roof edge matter more. A guard that sits loose will lift in wind and let leaves in behind it. A single coarse layer passes needles. That is why we ask what grows near the roof before we name a system, and why the three we carry differ in layers and support rather than in metal.
Call to install: every step
Three ways to start
- Call (617) 401-9301. It is answered any hour, and a missed call gets called back.
- Send the short form on the home page with your street address, and your number lands in your inbox.
- Text or chat through the chat window on this site.
Understand what you actually need
About fifteen minutes on the phone: the length of the roofline, the number of stories and the trees around the house. The roofline is measured remotely, so nobody comes to the house to sell. You get your price the same day, from the published per-foot rates.
- Gutters still in good shape: Gutter Clean Pro goes over the gutters you already have, from $18/ft.
- Gutters that need replacing: new gutters with the guard built in. T-Rex (continuous hanger) from $25/ft, or DoublePro (two filtration layers) from $30/ft.
- Fascia that cannot be drilled: Hover Pro, quoted for your house.
- Complex rooflines, third stories and copper are quoted separately, and we say so on the call, never after arrival.
Your plan, in writing
You get a written quote and your StormRail plan: photos of your house, the system, the gutter size and your color choices. The certified installer works from that same plan, so you and the installer are never on different pages.
A deposit capped at one third
Massachusetts law caps a home-improvement deposit at one third of the contract. We hold to that in every state we work in. Your quote names the exact figure before you pay anything.
Material ordered and confirmed
Your Alu-Rex system is ordered through the Alu-Rex distributor and confirmed before an install date is set, so the date you get is one the material can meet.
Scheduled with a certified installer in your county
A certified Alu-Rex installer working in your area takes the job, and you get the date without chasing anyone. In season we're typically booking four to six weeks out. We'd rather tell you that now than promise you Tuesday and send whoever happened to be free. Emergency work — a collapsed run, active water in the basement — gets triaged ahead of the queue.
Installed
The installer fits the system on the plan you already approved. Any balance is due as your quote states.
After the install
We check in after the job is done. Each system carries its own written Alu-Rex warranty:
- Gutter Clean Pro: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance lifetime limited, including coniferous areas
- T-Rex: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance 25-year prorated limited
- DoublePro: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance lifetime limited, including coniferous areas
Questions homeowners ask
I own a townhouse in Rocky Hill. Can you do my gutters?
Yes. Tell us who is responsible for the exterior. If the gutter run is shared with neighbors, we price the whole run as one job so it is done once and done evenly.
Does Rocky Hill require a permit for gutter guards?
The Building Department requires permits to alter or repair a building, and its page does not say whether gutter work alone needs one. Check with the department before your install date.
Can Gutter Clean Pro go on 6-inch gutters?
Yes. It is $20 a foot installed on sound 6-inch gutters and $18 on 5-inch.
What happens to my old gutters if you replace them?
The installer takes them down and hauls them away. Removal is listed on the quote at $1 a foot, so you see it before you agree to anything.
How soon can the work happen?
In season we typically book four to six weeks out, and the material is confirmed before you get a date. Call (617) 401-9301 to get on the list.
Do you install gutter covers, gutter screens or leaf guards in Rocky Hill?
Yes. Gutter covers, gutter screens, leaf guards and gutter guards are names for the same job: keeping leaves and needles out of the gutter. In Rocky Hill we install Alu-Rex Gutter Clean Pro over sound gutters from $18 a foot, or a new seamless gutter with T-Rex from $25 or DoublePro from $30.
