StormRail quotes gutter guards in Tolland County by the foot on the first call: from $18 for Gutter Clean Pro over sound gutters, $25 for new gutters with T-Rex, $30 for DoublePro. Someone answers any hour. A certified installer working in the county fits the job from the written plan you approved. Connecticut is one part of our all-New-England coverage.
Vernon's mill villages, Bolton's state-park woods and Hebron's rolling hills make three different kinds of lot. The gutters on each need a plan that fits the house, priced before anyone climbs a ladder.

Towns we cover in Tolland County
Houses from the 1950s through the 1990s
The three towns were built in different waves. Census estimates put Vernon's median home at 1968, with the 1960s its biggest decade and about 16% of its housing from before 1940. Bolton's median is 1969, and it built more in the 1950s than in any other decade. Hebron came later: about 60% of its housing went up between 1970 and 1999, and its median home dates from 1986.
Bolton and Hebron are mostly detached houses, 91.5% and about 88% of their housing units. Vernon is more mixed, with about 45% detached and a good share in three- and four-unit buildings. On a house of any of those ages, the first question on our call is whether the gutters are sound enough to keep. If they are, Gutter Clean Pro goes over them. If not, new gutters go up with T-Rex or DoublePro built in.
Wet months, hill-town woods and wind
The long-term averages published for the Bolton ZIP code come to about 50.5 inches of precipitation a year, with every month between 3.1 and 4.6 inches and November the wettest. That is rain arriving while the last leaves are still falling. Most guards cope fine with a drizzle. Trouble starts in a downpour, when wet leaves and a heavy rain hit the gutter together.
Woods are part of the landscape here. Hebron's town plan describes rolling hills, woodland and open space covering 22.6% of the town, and Bolton Notch State Park puts 95 acres of forest inside Bolton. Wind brings those trees down. A March 2026 rainstorm with heavy winds dropped trees in seven areas of Vernon, and Hebron's 2024 hazard annex ranks hurricanes and tropical storms as its costliest hazard on FEMA's modelled estimates, ahead of high wind and winter storms. The annex also recommends more tree trimming after outages in 2020 and 2021.
Heavy snow on leaves is the other load. In the October 2011 nor'easter, snow fell on trees still in leaf across Connecticut, and statewide outages peaked at about 880,000. A gutter hung on a continuous rail keeps its support along the whole run when a limb or a slab of snow lands on it.
Historic centers and permit questions in the county
Each town has a historic core on the National Register: Vernon's Rockville and Talcottville districts, the Bolton Green Historic District, and the Hebron Center Historic District. If your house is in one, tell us on the call and we will plan around what the town asks for.
On permits, Vernon's building department says the state code requires permits to alter or repair a building, and its page does not mention gutters. Hebron's published exemption sheet does not list gutters either. All three towns take applications online. Ask your building office about your specific job before work starts.
Call to install: every step
Three ways to start
- Call (617) 401-9301. It is answered any hour, and a missed call gets called back.
- Send the short form on the home page with your street address, and your number lands in your inbox.
- Text or chat through the chat window on this site.
Understand what you actually need
About fifteen minutes on the phone: the length of the roofline, the number of stories and the trees around the house. The roofline is measured remotely, so nobody comes to the house to sell. You get your price the same day, from the published per-foot rates.
- Gutters still in good shape: Gutter Clean Pro goes over the gutters you already have, from $18/ft.
- Gutters that need replacing: new gutters with the guard built in. T-Rex (continuous hanger) from $25/ft, or DoublePro (two filtration layers) from $30/ft.
- Fascia that cannot be drilled: Hover Pro, quoted for your house.
- Complex rooflines, third stories and copper are quoted separately, and we say so on the call, never after arrival.
Your plan, in writing
You get a written quote and your StormRail plan: photos of your house, the system, the gutter size and your color choices. The certified installer works from that same plan, so you and the installer are never on different pages.
A deposit capped at one third
Massachusetts law caps a home-improvement deposit at one third of the contract. We hold to that in every state we work in. Your quote names the exact figure before you pay anything.
Material ordered and confirmed
Your Alu-Rex system is ordered through the Alu-Rex distributor and confirmed before an install date is set, so the date you get is one the material can meet.
Scheduled with a certified installer in your county
A certified Alu-Rex installer working in your area takes the job, and you get the date without chasing anyone. In season we're typically booking four to six weeks out. We'd rather tell you that now than promise you Tuesday and send whoever happened to be free. Emergency work — a collapsed run, active water in the basement — gets triaged ahead of the queue.
Installed
The installer fits the system on the plan you already approved. Any balance is due as your quote states.
After the install
We check in after the job is done. Each system carries its own written Alu-Rex warranty:
- Gutter Clean Pro: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance lifetime limited, including coniferous areas
- T-Rex: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance 25-year prorated limited
- DoublePro: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance lifetime limited, including coniferous areas
Questions homeowners ask
Are Tolland County prices different from the rest of Connecticut?
No. The per-foot rates are the same everywhere we work and sit on the pricing page. Call (617) 401-9301 and we measure your roofline remotely and price it on that call.
Do you cover towns beyond Vernon, Hebron and Bolton?
Yes. Tolland County is part of our coverage across all of New England, so the same process and prices apply wherever you live in the region.
Who fits the guards?
A certified Alu-Rex installer working in the county, from the written plan you approved. The deposit is capped at one third of the job, and your quote names the figure before you pay.
My gutters are decades old. Should I replace them?
Not by age alone. If they are straight, dry at the seams and tight to the fascia, a guard can go over them. If not, we price new gutters with the guard built in.
