What the call is
The call is how every StormRail job starts. Dial (617) 401-9301 at any hour. It is answered, day or night, and if you ever miss us we call you back. There is no appointment to wait for and no window to keep free.
It takes about fifteen minutes. We ask about the length of the roofline, how many stories the house has, what the trees around it drop, and what your gutters do in a heavy rain. The roofline itself is measured remotely, so nobody has to come to the house to price it and nobody comes to sell.
At the end of the call you have your price, worked out from the same published per-foot rates every homeowner gets. If the house has something unusual, such as a complex roofline, a third story or copper, we say so on the call and quote it separately. You never hear about it for the first time after someone arrives.
Have these to hand
None of this is required, and you can call with none of it. It just makes the number you get on the call closer to the final one.
- The address, so the roofline can be measured remotely
- How many stories each side of the house is, including a tall downhill side on a sloped lot
- What trees are near the roof: pine, oak, maple, or none
- What happens now in a downpour: overflow at a corner, a sagging run, water at the foundation
- Whether the existing gutters are sound, or rusted, leaking and pulling away
- A few phone photos of the gutters, if you have them, to send after the call
What you will hear on the call
If your gutters are in good shape, the likely answer is Gutter Clean Pro over the gutters you already have, from $18 per foot installed. If they need replacing, it is new gutters with the guard built in: T-Rex from $25 per foot or DoublePro from $30 per foot with 5-inch gutters. Downspouts are their own line, from $14 per foot.
We give you a 5-inch price and a 6-inch price and let you decide. If the roof clearly needs the larger size, because of a steep pitch or a valley dumping onto one corner, we tell you why.
If you do not need us, we say that too. Sound gutters with no trees overhead may not need a guard at all, and we would rather tell you now than sell you a system you will not notice.
What happens after you hang up
Nothing happens unless you want it to. The price you were given is the published price, and it does not expire at the end of the call. There is no follow-up visit to schedule and no discount that disappears tonight.
If you decide to go ahead, you get a written quote and your StormRail plan: the system, the size, the footage, photos of your house and your color choices. The certified installer works from that same plan. The deposit is capped at one third of the contract, and the rest of the steps are laid out below, from ordering the material to the install date.
StormRail is backed by Wood & Wood Seamless Gutters, Mike Wood's Connecticut gutter company, with more than 30 years in the gutter business.
Prefer not to call?
The short form on our home page takes your name, email, street address, ZIP code and number of stories. We measure the roofline from the address and your number lands in your inbox. You can also text or chat with us through the chat window on this site.
Whichever way you start, it reaches the same people and the same plan. The phone is still the fastest: (617) 401-9301, any hour.
Call to install: every step
Three ways to start
- Call (617) 401-9301. It is answered any hour, and a missed call gets called back.
- Send the short form on the home page with your street address, and your number lands in your inbox.
- Text or chat through the chat window on this site.
Understand what you actually need
About fifteen minutes on the phone: the length of the roofline, the number of stories and the trees around the house. The roofline is measured remotely, so nobody comes to the house to sell. You get your price the same day, from the published per-foot rates.
- Gutters still in good shape: Gutter Clean Pro goes over the gutters you already have, from $18/ft.
- Gutters that need replacing: new gutters with the guard built in. T-Rex (continuous hanger) from $25/ft, or DoublePro (two filtration layers) from $30/ft.
- Fascia that cannot be drilled: Hover Pro, quoted for your house.
- Complex rooflines, third stories and copper are quoted separately, and we say so on the call, never after arrival.
Your plan, in writing
You get a written quote and your StormRail plan: photos of your house, the system, the gutter size and your color choices. The certified installer works from that same plan, so you and the installer are never on different pages.
A deposit capped at one third
Massachusetts law caps a home-improvement deposit at one third of the contract. We hold to that in every state we work in. Your quote names the exact figure before you pay anything.
Material ordered and confirmed
Your Alu-Rex system is ordered through the Alu-Rex distributor and confirmed before an install date is set, so the date you get is one the material can meet.
Scheduled with a certified installer in your county
A certified Alu-Rex installer working in your area takes the job, and you get the date without chasing anyone. In season we're typically booking four to six weeks out. We'd rather tell you that now than promise you Tuesday and send whoever happened to be free. Emergency work — a collapsed run, active water in the basement — gets triaged ahead of the queue.
Installed
The installer fits the system on the plan you already approved. Any balance is due as your quote states.
After the install
We check in after the job is done. Each system carries its own written Alu-Rex warranty:
- Gutter Clean Pro: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance lifetime limited, including coniferous areas
- T-Rex: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance 25-year prorated limited
- DoublePro: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance lifetime limited, including coniferous areas
Get a number for your roofline
Tell us the address, gutter condition and surrounding trees. We will work through the footage and the right system with you. The published rate is a starting point; the actual scope and total are confirmed before you authorize work.
