A clogged gutter guard doesn't look clogged. It just stops taking water.

Fine mesh filters beautifully until pollen, grit and needle fragments blind the surface. Then rain runs across the top and over the front lip. The gutter underneath is spotless and your foundation is still getting soaked.

Reverse-curve hoods have the opposite problem. They rely on water clinging around a curve, which holds right up until the surface is dirty or the rain is heavy. In a New England freeze–thaw, that front lip is also where the ice starts.

DoublePro was engineered around that specific failure: two layers, sized so water is drawn through while needles and seeds stay on top and blow off dry.

What we fit on most New England roofs

Prices are per linear foot of gutter, installed — gutter, guard and labour in one number. Downspouts are $14a foot on 5″ and $16 a foot on 6″, elbows included, and they are on your quote as their own line so you can see exactly what carries the water down. Taking the old gutters away is $1 a foot. A typical house runs 180–220 feet of gutter. Complex rooflines, third stories and copper are quoted separately — we say so on the call, not after we have arrived.

People ask for a lower number. It's a fair question, so here's the honest answer: there's nothing in here to remove. The price covers a path the water takes from your roof to a safe distance from your house, and every piece of it is carrying that water somewhere.

Take one out and you haven't saved money. You've picked the spot where the water stops going where it should — and water that stops halfway is the reason people call us in the first place.
