StormRail installs Alu-Rex gutter guards across Easton, from Aspetuck to Plattsville. DoublePro on a new seamless gutter is $30/ft and T-Rex $25/ft; Gutter Clean Pro fits over sound gutters from $18/ft. Call any hour and get the price on that call. A certified installer working in Fairfield County then fits the plan you approved in writing.
Half the property in Easton belongs to the water company, and the town grew slowly because of the rough hills along the Aspetuck River. What you get today is a town of detached houses on hilly roads, and in August 2020 the trees along those roads came down hard enough to cut power to 89% of Easton.

Easton's choice: how fine a guard your trees call for
Ask what lands on your roof before you ask about price. Broad leaves are the easy part: they sit on a perforated top, dry, and blow away. The hard part is the small material that falls all year: needles, seed, bud scales, bits of bark and twig, and the granules an older shingle sheds. A single perforated layer lets some of it through, and over a couple of seasons it builds a wet sludge in the gutter that you cannot see from the ground.
That is the case DoublePro is built for. It is the T-Rex hanger and top with a second, finer layer underneath, on a new seamless gutter. DoublePro carries a lifetime clog-free warranty, pine needles included. It costs $30 a foot in 5-inch and $34 in 6-inch, with the gutter and the installation in the price.
If what falls is mostly hardwood leaves, T-Rex on its own may be enough. The rail that carries the gutter along its full length is also the cover, so nothing hangs from spikes. It is $25 a foot in 5-inch and $29 in 6-inch.
If your gutters are newer and in good order, Gutter Clean Pro, a two-layer aluminum guard, fastens over what you have for $18 a foot over 5-inch and $20 over 6-inch. Downspouts are their own line at $14 or $16 a foot, and removing an old gutter is $1 a foot. Every rate is on the pricing page.
| System | For a roof that collects | 5-inch | 6-inch |
|---|---|---|---|
| DoublePro | Needles, seed and fine grit, on a new gutter | $30/ft | $34/ft |
| T-Rex | Mostly broad leaves, on a new gutter | $25/ft | $29/ft |
| Gutter Clean Pro | Leaves and needles, over a sound gutter you keep | $18/ft | $20/ft |
Easton's land, its houses and the 2020 storm
Easton sits north of Fairfield, with Weston to the west, Monroe and Trumbull to the east, and Newtown and Redding to the north. It took its time becoming a town. The rough hills along the Aspetuck River slowed settlement, and Easton did not split from Weston until 1845. Today the Aquarion Water Company, the area's main water supplier, owns half of the property in a town of 28.6 square miles. Within its borders are the Aspetuck historic district and Plattsville.
The houses are nearly all one kind. Census estimates count 2,606 housing units, and about 97% are single-family detached. The median one was built in 1974, but no decade stands out: the 1970s and 1990s added the most, the 1950s almost as many, and a sizable group predates 1940. Gutter age varies a lot from one driveway to the next, so the first thing we ask on the call is what shape yours is in.
On Wednesday, August 5, 2020, after Tropical Storm Isaias, the Easton Courier reported that 89% of Easton customers had no power as of 6:05 p.m., according to United Illuminating. Route 59 was shut near North Park Avenue, Route 58 was partly blocked in several places, and fallen trees closed many side roads. A gutter under trees like those takes whatever the wind brings down, from needles to whole limbs, and a gutter held by a full-length rail stands up to it better than one hung on spikes.
One Easton tree made national news. The 2009 Rockefeller Center Christmas tree was a 76-foot Norway spruce donated from a private residence in town. Evergreens shed needles in every season, and needles are what a single-layer guard lets through, which is why DoublePro leads on this page.
No long-record NOAA station sits in Easton. The closest is Bridgeport Sikorsky Memorial Airport, about 11 miles southeast on the coast. Its 1991-2020 normals give 44.09 inches of precipitation, 33.6 inches of snow, 10.3 days with at least an inch of rain and about 92 nights at or below freezing a year. Easton is inland, so read those as the airport's numbers and never as an Easton measurement.
If your house is in the Aspetuck historic district, ask the town whether exterior work needs a review before work starts. We have not read Easton's rules on it, and we will plan around whatever the town tells you.
What do gutter guards cost for an Easton home?
Per foot installed: DoublePro on a new seamless gutter is $30 in 5-inch and $34 in 6-inch, T-Rex is $25 and $29, and Gutter Clean Pro over sound gutters is $18 and $20. Downspouts and the removal of old gutter are separate lines.
Three things move the total: the feet of eave, the number of stories and how much falls on the roof. We measure the roof remotely and price it on the call. If you are torn between the two new-gutter systems, the T-Rex vs DoublePro comparison lays out the difference.
A deposit holds your date. It never exceeds one third of the contract, your quote names the exact amount, and the balance comes due after the install is complete.
Do gutter guards work with pine and spruce needles?
A coarse screen struggles with them, because a needle is thin enough to slide through. DoublePro's second, finer layer is built to catch them, and DoublePro's lifetime clog-free warranty covers needles.
Needles still collect on top in sheltered corners and roof valleys, and a soft broom or a hose clears them. The pine needle question page explains what to expect year to year.
What if a limb comes down on the gutter?
No gutter shrugs off a falling limb. What T-Rex and DoublePro change is how the gutter is held. A rail along the full length shares the weight, where spikes every couple of feet can pull out one at a time.

Call to install: every step
Three ways to start
- Call (617) 401-9301. It is answered any hour, and a missed call gets called back.
- Send the short form on the home page with your street address, and your number lands in your inbox.
- Text or chat through the chat window on this site.
Understand what you actually need
About fifteen minutes on the phone: the length of the roofline, the number of stories and the trees around the house. The roofline is measured remotely, so nobody comes to the house to sell. You get your price the same day, from the published per-foot rates.
- Gutters still in good shape: Gutter Clean Pro goes over the gutters you already have, from $18/ft.
- Gutters that need replacing: new gutters with the guard built in. T-Rex (continuous hanger) from $25/ft, or DoublePro (two filtration layers) from $30/ft.
- Fascia that cannot be drilled: Hover Pro, quoted for your house.
- Complex rooflines, third stories and copper are quoted separately, and we say so on the call, never after arrival.
Your plan, in writing
You get a written quote and your StormRail plan: photos of your house, the system, the gutter size and your color choices. The certified installer works from that same plan, so you and the installer are never on different pages.
A deposit capped at one third
Massachusetts law caps a home-improvement deposit at one third of the contract. We hold to that in every state we work in. Your quote names the exact figure before you pay anything.
Material ordered and confirmed
Your Alu-Rex system is ordered through the Alu-Rex distributor and confirmed before an install date is set, so the date you get is one the material can meet.
Scheduled with a certified installer in your county
A certified Alu-Rex installer working in your area takes the job, and you get the date without chasing anyone. In season we're typically booking four to six weeks out. We'd rather tell you that now than promise you Tuesday and send whoever happened to be free. Emergency work — a collapsed run, active water in the basement — gets triaged ahead of the queue.
Installed
The installer fits the system on the plan you already approved. Any balance is due as your quote states.
After the install
We check in after the job is done. Each system carries its own written Alu-Rex warranty:
- Gutter Clean Pro: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance lifetime limited, including coniferous areas
- T-Rex: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance 25-year prorated limited
- DoublePro: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance lifetime limited, including coniferous areas
Questions homeowners ask
Does anyone come out to sell before I decide?
No. The roof is measured remotely and priced when you call (617) 401-9301. The certified installer's visit is for the work you approved in writing, nothing else.
Do you work in Aspetuck and Plattsville?
Yes. Every part of Easton, Aspetuck and Plattsville included, gets the same rate per foot.
Is DoublePro worth the extra over T-Rex?
The difference is $5 a foot in 5-inch. Under evergreens, or where seed and grit pile up, the finer second layer is what keeps the trough clear. Under broad leaves alone, T-Rex usually does the job.
My house sits far back from the road. Does that change the quote?
No. We measure the roof remotely, so a long driveway or a house set deep in the trees is priced the same way as any other, by the foot of gutter and downspout.
Do you put in 6-inch gutters in Easton?
Yes. Every system comes in both sizes. In 6-inch, DoublePro is 34 a foot, T-Rex 29, and Gutter Clean Pro over an existing 6-inch gutter 20.
How long until the work is done?
In season we typically book four to six weeks out, and the material is confirmed before your date is set.
Do you install gutter covers, gutter screens or leaf guards in Easton?
Yes. Gutter covers, gutter screens, leaf guards and gutter guards are names for the same job: keeping leaves and needles out of the gutter. In Easton we install Alu-Rex Gutter Clean Pro over sound gutters from $18 a foot, or a new seamless gutter with T-Rex from $25 or DoublePro from $30.
