StormRail prices Alu-Rex gutter guards for Vernon, Rockville, Talcottville and the rest of Tolland County while you are on the phone. Gutter Clean Pro over sound gutters is $18 per foot. New gutters with T-Rex are $25, and with DoublePro $30. Call any time, day or night. You approve a written plan, and a certified installer does the job to that plan.
Vernon's houses are older than most in the suburbs around it, and storms here keep bringing trees down. Tell us what your gutters look like. We will price a cover, or new gutters with the guard built in.

What each system costs on a Vernon house
Most calls from older towns start with one question: can I keep my gutters? If they are level, the seams hold, and water leaves through the downspouts, yes. Gutter Clean Pro is a two-layer aluminum cover that fastens over an existing gutter. It costs $18 per foot for 5-inch and $20 per foot for 6-inch, installed. You keep the gutter you paid for and stop climbing up to clean it.
When the gutter itself is the problem, we replace it. A run that bows between hangers, leaks at every joint or has come loose from the fascia will not be saved by a cover. T-Rex is the new-gutter option most Vernon lots will look at first. Its continuous hanger supports the gutter along the full run, and its perforated top keeps leaves out. It costs $25 per foot on 5-inch and $29 on 6-inch.
DoublePro is the step up, for roofs that catch needles or seed pods. Two layers of perforated aluminum sit on the continuous hanger, and the lower one stops fine debris the upper one lets through. It runs $30 per foot for 5-inch and $34 for 6-inch. DoublePro carries a lifetime clog-free warranty, pine needles included.
Two more lines may appear. Downspouts cost $14 to $16 per foot depending on size, and removing old gutters costs $1 per foot. On a tall building downspout footage adds up, so we never bury it in the gutter rate. The price list is the same for everyone who calls.
For a three- or four-unit building, the math works the same way: the roofline is measured, each line is priced, and the owner gets one written quote. If you own the building and rent the units, you can approve the plan without a tenant needing to let anyone in to sell you something.
| System | Gutter | 5-inch | 6-inch | Pick it if |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gutter Clean Pro | You keep yours | $18/ft | $20/ft | Your gutters are sound |
| T-Rex | New | $25/ft | $29/ft | Your gutters are failing, leaves are the debris |
| DoublePro | New | $30/ft | $34/ft | Needles or seed pods reach the roof |
Rockville mills, 1960s houses and Vernon's storm record
Vernon's median home was built in 1968. The 1960s were its biggest building decade, with 3,148 units, and 2,311 of its 14,449 housing units, about 16%, predate 1940. That mix is older than most of the surrounding suburbs.
Not every home here is a single house. About 45% are detached single-family, another 2,006 units sit in three- and four-unit buildings, and 53.2% of homes are owner-occupied. If you own a multi-family building, one call covers the whole roofline.
The old core is historic. Most of Rockville, a former city folded into Vernon in 1965, is the Rockville Historic District, listed on the National Register in 1984: 842 buildings over 550 acres, in Greek Revival, Late Victorian and Classical Revival styles. The Talcottville Historic District, a 19th-century mill village listed in 1989, holds 32 significant buildings along with the dams and ponds of the Warburton, Dobson and Talcott mills. A gutter on a Greek Revival cornice needs thought, so send us a photo.
Trees are the local risk. A windy rainstorm on March 16 and 17, 2026 brought down trees in seven areas of Vernon, some taking wires with them along the Hatch Hill and Brandy Hill corridor. In February 2026 the town announced that Eversource contractors had begun trimming and removing trees, noting that drought, disease and storms have hurt Connecticut's trees. Across the state, the October 2011 nor'easter dropped 12 to 18 inches of snow onto trees still in leaf. That weight tears gutters away at their weakest points, which is a case for a hanger that supports the whole run.
Vernon's Building Department says the state code requires permits for construction, alteration and repair, filed through OpenGov. Its page does not mention gutters, so ask the department about your job.
How much do gutter guards cost for a 2,000 sq ft house?
Square footage does not set the price, because we charge by the foot of gutter, not the size of the floor plan. Two houses with 2,000 square feet can have very different rooflines. A single-story ranch spreads that area out and has long eaves. A two-story Colonial stacks it and has shorter eaves but taller downspouts. A Cape with dormers sits somewhere in between.
So the useful numbers are the per-foot rates. Installed, 5-inch: $18 for Gutter Clean Pro on existing gutters, $25 for new gutters with T-Rex, $30 for new gutters with DoublePro. Multiply by the length of your eaves, then add downspouts and removal if they apply. We measure that length remotely and do the multiplication on the call, so you do not have to guess. Our cost page has more detail.
Which company offers the best gutter guards?
We are not going to rank our competitors. We have not tested their products, and we would rather tell you what to check. Ask for the price per foot in writing before anyone visits. Ask whether the guard sits on a continuous hanger or on hangers spaced along the gutter. Ask what the warranty covers, in writing, and whether pine needles are named.
Ask who installs it, too. With StormRail, a certified Alu-Rex installer fits the system from the plan you approved, and your deposit stays at or under one third of the contract. Each system's written warranty is on the warranty page, and you can read about the manufacturer on our Alu-Rex page. Compare those terms against any other quote you get.
Call to install: every step
Three ways to start
- Call (617) 401-9301. It is answered any hour, and a missed call gets called back.
- Send the short form on the home page with your street address, and your number lands in your inbox.
- Text or chat through the chat window on this site.
Understand what you actually need
About fifteen minutes on the phone: the length of the roofline, the number of stories and the trees around the house. The roofline is measured remotely, so nobody comes to the house to sell. You get your price the same day, from the published per-foot rates.
- Gutters still in good shape: Gutter Clean Pro goes over the gutters you already have, from $18/ft.
- Gutters that need replacing: new gutters with the guard built in. T-Rex (continuous hanger) from $25/ft, or DoublePro (two filtration layers) from $30/ft.
- Fascia that cannot be drilled: Hover Pro, quoted for your house.
- Complex rooflines, third stories and copper are quoted separately, and we say so on the call, never after arrival.
Your plan, in writing
You get a written quote and your StormRail plan: photos of your house, the system, the gutter size and your color choices. The certified installer works from that same plan, so you and the installer are never on different pages.
A deposit capped at one third
Massachusetts law caps a home-improvement deposit at one third of the contract. We hold to that in every state we work in. Your quote names the exact figure before you pay anything.
Material ordered and confirmed
Your Alu-Rex system is ordered through the Alu-Rex distributor and confirmed before an install date is set, so the date you get is one the material can meet.
Scheduled with a certified installer in your county
A certified Alu-Rex installer working in your area takes the job, and you get the date without chasing anyone. In season we're typically booking four to six weeks out. We'd rather tell you that now than promise you Tuesday and send whoever happened to be free. Emergency work — a collapsed run, active water in the basement — gets triaged ahead of the queue.
Installed
The installer fits the system on the plan you already approved. Any balance is due as your quote states.
After the install
We check in after the job is done. Each system carries its own written Alu-Rex warranty:
- Gutter Clean Pro: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance lifetime limited, including coniferous areas
- T-Rex: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance 25-year prorated limited
- DoublePro: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance lifetime limited, including coniferous areas
Questions homeowners ask
Do you work on multi-family buildings in Vernon?
Yes. A three- or four-unit building is priced the same way as a house, by the foot of gutter and downspout, with one written quote for the owner.
Will someone come to my house to sell me gutters?
No. Call (617) 401-9301 and we measure your roofline remotely and give you the price on that call. A certified installer comes when the job is booked.
Do I need a permit for gutters in Vernon?
The Building Department's page says the state code requires permits for construction, alteration and repair, and does not mention gutters. Ask the department about your job before work starts.
Can guards go on the gutters I have now?
If they are sound, yes. Gutter Clean Pro goes over existing gutters for $18 per foot on 5-inch. If they are failing, we will tell you and price new gutters.
How long will the guards last?
Each Alu-Rex system carries its own written warranty, listed on our warranty page. Our page on how long gutter guards last covers what wears out and what does not.
Do you install gutter covers, gutter screens or leaf guards in Vernon and Rockville?
Yes. Gutter covers, gutter screens, leaf guards and gutter guards are names for the same job: keeping leaves and needles out of the gutter. In Vernon and Rockville we install Alu-Rex Gutter Clean Pro over sound gutters from $18 a foot, or a new seamless gutter with T-Rex from $25 or DoublePro from $30.
