StormRail prices gutter guards for West Warwick homes by the foot on the first call. DoublePro on a new seamless gutter starts at $30/ft, T-Rex at $25/ft, and Gutter Clean Pro over a sound gutter at $18/ft. A certified Alu-Rex installer who works in Kent County fits the job from your approved written plan.
West Warwick grew up around some of the first textile mills in the country, strung along the Pawtuxet River. In 2010 that river rose 12 feet over flood stage and ran through much of the town. That makes the water coming off your own roof worth taking seriously.

DoublePro, T-Rex or Gutter Clean Pro on a West Warwick roof
The price on this page leads with DoublePro because it is the guard that asks least of you afterwards. It sits on a new seamless gutter and has two perforated layers: an upper sheet that sheds leaves and a finer one below it that keeps out what a single layer lets through, such as needles, seed pods and the granules that wash off an older shingle roof. DoublePro carries a lifetime clog-free warranty, pine needles included. It is $30 a foot for 5-inch gutter and $34 for 6-inch, installed with the gutter.
If the debris on your roof is mostly broad leaves, T-Rex does the job for less. It is the same continuous hanger-and-guard rail, one aluminum piece that carries the gutter along its whole length, without the second fine layer. T-Rex costs $25 a foot in 5-inch and $29 in 6-inch, also with the new gutter included.
Both of those replace the gutter. If yours is straight, tight at the seams and draining to its outlets, you can keep it and put Gutter Clean Pro on top for $18 a foot on 5-inch and $20 on 6-inch. We will tell you on the call which of the three fits your house, and if the honest answer is the cheapest one, that is the one we price.
Downspouts are their own line at $14 to $16 a foot depending on size, and taking down an old gutter is $1 a foot. On a building with several units the downspout count can be higher than people expect, so we count them with you. The pricing page shows every rate.
| System | Layers | 5-inch | 6-inch |
|---|---|---|---|
| DoublePro | Two: leaf sheet plus fine sheet, new gutter | $30/ft | $34/ft |
| T-Rex | One, on a new gutter it also holds up | $25/ft | $29/ft |
| Gutter Clean Pro | One, over your existing sound gutter | $18/ft | $20/ft |
Mill villages, shared roofs and a river that rose 21 feet
West Warwick was the site of some of the earliest textile mills in the United States. Its small mill villages along the Pawtuxet River Valley played an important part in the early textile industry, and the Lippitt Mill dates from 1809. The villages still carry those names: Arctic at the center, where most of the municipal buildings are; Phenix in the northwest corner; River Point, home to the historic Royal Mills; and Crompton, Natick, Clyde and Centerville.
The housing reflects that history. Census estimates put fewer than half of West Warwick's 15,269 housing units, about 46%, in detached single-family buildings. Another 1,881 units are in two-unit buildings and 1,597 in buildings of three or four units. The pre-1940 band is the largest, at 3,992 units, more than any decade since, followed by the 1980s at 2,911. The median dates from 1968.
It is also a compact town. West Warwick covers about 8.1 square miles, and at the 2020 census it held 3,959.7 people per square mile. Close lots mean a gutter that overflows often spills toward a neighbour's wall or a shared driveway as well as your own foundation, so the downspout plan deserves as much thought as the guard.
Then there is the river. In 2010 a massive rainfall pushed the Pawtuxet to 21 feet, 12 feet above flood stage, and the water ran through much of the town. During the record crest on March 31, many roads in the West Warwick and Cranston area were closed, and the National Weather Service recorded flooding at the West Warwick water treatment facility. A gutter cannot stop that kind of water. What it can do, on the ordinary wet nights in between, is keep the roof's runoff moving to the downspouts and away from the walls.
Those ordinary nights add up. The long-record NOAA station nearest the town is at T.F. Green Airport in Warwick, and its 1991-2020 normals show 47.54 inches of precipitation, 36.6 inches of snow, 12.8 days with an inch of rain or more and about 109 nights at or below freezing. They are airport numbers, not a West Warwick measurement, but they set the bar: a gutter here sees a dozen heavy rains and more than a hundred freezing nights in a normal year.
How are gutter guards priced on a two- or three-family house?
The same way as on a single-family house: per foot of gutter, with downspouts on their own line. DoublePro on new 5-inch gutter is $30 a foot, T-Rex is $25, and Gutter Clean Pro over a sound gutter is $18. As an example only, 160 feet of 5-inch DoublePro comes to $4800 before downspouts.
A multi-family building usually has more eave and more downspouts than a single house on a similar lot, so the total runs higher, but the rate does not change. If you own the building, one call is enough. If the units are owned separately, all the owners should agree to one plan for the whole roof.
Are gutter guards worth it on an older West Warwick house?
On an older house they usually pay back in two ways: no more climbing a ladder to scoop out the trough, and less water dropped beside a foundation that may already be the oldest part of the building. The catch is the gutter itself. A guard on a gutter that is about to fail is wasted, which is why we price a new seamless gutter with the guard built in when the old one is past saving.
Where a guard is not worth it, we will say so: a house with no trees nearby and a gutter that never clogs does not need one. The question page on whether gutter guards are worth it sets out the trade.
Do gutter guards work in heavy rain?
A guard has to let water in as fast as the roof delivers it. In a downpour, a roof valley can pour a whole slope of water into a few feet of gutter at once, and that is the spot where weak guards overshoot and the water lands in the flower bed. Alu-Rex guards are perforated aluminum built to take water in across their face.
The gutter and downspouts behind the guard matter just as much. If your gutter overflows at one corner today, tell us on the call, because that is where the system runs out of room and where a 6-inch gutter or an extra downspout may help. The heavy-rain question page has more.
Call to install: every step
Three ways to start
- Call (617) 401-9301. It is answered any hour, and a missed call gets called back.
- Send the short form on the home page with your street address, and your number lands in your inbox.
- Text or chat through the chat window on this site.
Understand what you actually need
About fifteen minutes on the phone: the length of the roofline, the number of stories and the trees around the house. The roofline is measured remotely, so nobody comes to the house to sell. You get your price the same day, from the published per-foot rates.
- Gutters still in good shape: Gutter Clean Pro goes over the gutters you already have, from $18/ft.
- Gutters that need replacing: new gutters with the guard built in. T-Rex (continuous hanger) from $25/ft, or DoublePro (two filtration layers) from $30/ft.
- Fascia that cannot be drilled: Hover Pro, quoted for your house.
- Complex rooflines, third stories and copper are quoted separately, and we say so on the call, never after arrival.
Your plan, in writing
You get a written quote and your StormRail plan: photos of your house, the system, the gutter size and your color choices. The certified installer works from that same plan, so you and the installer are never on different pages.
A deposit capped at one third
Massachusetts law caps a home-improvement deposit at one third of the contract. We hold to that in every state we work in. Your quote names the exact figure before you pay anything.
Material ordered and confirmed
Your Alu-Rex system is ordered through the Alu-Rex distributor and confirmed before an install date is set, so the date you get is one the material can meet.
Scheduled with a certified installer in your county
A certified Alu-Rex installer working in your area takes the job, and you get the date without chasing anyone. In season we're typically booking four to six weeks out. We'd rather tell you that now than promise you Tuesday and send whoever happened to be free. Emergency work — a collapsed run, active water in the basement — gets triaged ahead of the queue.
Installed
The installer fits the system on the plan you already approved. Any balance is due as your quote states.
After the install
We check in after the job is done. Each system carries its own written Alu-Rex warranty:
- Gutter Clean Pro: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance lifetime limited, including coniferous areas
- T-Rex: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance 25-year prorated limited
- DoublePro: manufacturing lifetime limited, clog performance lifetime limited, including coniferous areas
